Treatments for the overgrowth of the gums

For some people, the problem is having too much gum tissue. This is what is known as the "smile of gum" in which the teeth may seem very small and very large gum. Also, some medications such as phonation, cyclosporine and nifedipine can cause your gums are enlarged. The periodontist may remove the excess gum in a process called gingivectomia.
